BROOKLYN, NY – On Sat, May 31st Nacotheque and The Yard bring you an ALL AGES picnic party with a special live performance by the delectable duo from Berlin STEREO TOTAL @ the waterfront concert venue, The Yard, on the Gowanus Canal in Brooklyn.
In addition to their fun, happy songs in French, German, and English, they will perform songs in Spanish from their new "Plástico" EP [released on Spanish label Elefant Records and to be released on Mexican label Silicon Carne Records].
Local Brooklyn avante-pop group Something In Spanish will join Stereo Total in the multilingual mix. In the DJ booth will be Nacotheque DJs Amylulita & Marcelo Cunning spinning the best indie-pop from Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Chile, Puerto Rico, etc and DJ Soulkitten (Blueghost PR) will dish out Castillian riot grrrl, Italian beat, French pop, and Italian post-punk.
ABOUT STEREO TOTAL:
Stereo Total are Françoise Cactus, (from France, drums and vocals) and Brezel Göring (guitar, synthesizer, sampler). The music of the chanson- electro- nonelectro- garage- rock'n'roll- french-pop- rock-à-billy- disco- international- underground- duo Stereo Total can be described as: 40% Yéyétronic, 20% R'n'R, 10% Punkrock, 3% electronic effects, 4% French 60ies beat, 7% genious dilettantism, 1,5% Cosmonaute, 10% really old synthesizers, 10% 8-bit Amiga-sampling, 10% transistor amplifier, 1% really expansive and advanced instruments, a minimalist production, meaning a home- made- trash- garage- sound crossed with underground, authentic as well as amateurish, ironic as well as effective, pop as well as political.
STEREO TOTAL released a vinyl 7" on Elefant Records in Spain called "Plástico" [features a spanish version of the song "Plastic" and three coverversions of Spanish songs] and a special Stereo Total- best-of: "Grandes Èxitos" will soon be out on Silicon Carne Records in Mexico.

“in their favor; it's as if they should have been touring with CSS...” - Pitchfork
"A combination of Mates of State and kicking mid '80s new wave, European duo Stereo Total deliver what we love about girl-boy bands -- and with French and German accents! On "Plastic," France's Françoise Cactus (drums/vocals) and Germany's Brezel Göring (guitar/synth) expose their Euro-centric pop sensibilities in a three-minute punk fest dedicated to the endurable duplicity of all things "Plastic." – SPIN
ABOUT SOMETHING IN SPANISH:
Something In Spanish began in Miami, Florida when Michelle Perez and Jules Monterrey found each other through mutual friends and started making music together. Michelle played guitar in her teens but wasn't interested in becoming a traditional singer-songwriter and Julio had toured the globe with jazz mogul Maynard Ferguson playing saxophone and developing experimental sound palettes. They both decided to step out of their musical comfort zones and are continually discovering a sound that they are calling avant-pop. SIS fuses elements of 50's pop, exotic lounge, experimental electronic and free jazz that guarantees a mysterious and engaging live experience.

ABOUT NACOTHEQUE:
Since February of 2006 Juan Ramirez (Marcelo Cunning) and Amylu Meneses (Amylulita) have been producing the Nacotheque party. By blending their musical tastes Marcelo and Amylu highlight new music from all over Latin America and Spain, providing an enviable collection of Spanish-sung [and Portuguese] music, new and old, popular and obscure of rock n' roll, new wave, indie rock, baile-funk, eighties, electropop, disco, cumbia, punk, and hip-hop.
In 2007, the DJ duo completed an international mini-tour and in 2008 spun in Puerto Rico, Houston, Spain (Madrid & Barcelona), LA, Chicago, Mexico (Mexico City, Puebla, Guadalajara) and have dates in Tijuana, San Franciso, and Dallas later this year.

ABOUT THE YARD:
The Yard opened its gates last year, and quickly became one of Brooklyn’s premier alternative waterfront venues. Highlights from the 2007 series included Gowanus Harvest Festival and the Social Registry Showcase.
This little Brooklyn gem has already developed a fierce local following. Set apart from major foot traffic, The Yard is tucked in the Gowanus, one of Brooklyn’s most dynamic and overlooked neighborhoods. The Yard still carries vestiges of its seedy past and commercial landscape, but it is also home to a grove of trees and boating docks. In a rapidly developing landscape, this beloved local venue celebrates the dynamic where industrial becomes bucolic.
