EELS leader Mark Oliver Everett aka E was recently the subject of a highly acclaimed BBC documentary film about himself and his father and has also written a book, THINGS THE GRANDCHILDREN SHOULD KNOW, already a bestseller in England, it will be published this fall in the U.S. A recent EELS show at St. James Church in London found The Who's Pete Townshend on stage reading from the book. EELS are planning to purchase one-second of Super Bowl television airtime to advertise the new rarities collections, USELESS TRINKETS.

On the heels of the just released new CD+DVD collections, the best of 'MEET THE EELS: ESSENTIAL EELS' and the rarities 'USELESS TRINKETS' (Geffen), EELS announce a US tour starting March 28 in Philadelphia. The CD+DVD collections celebrate the first ten years of the critically acclaimed and ever-changing entity (1996-2006), while the tour finds them performing at some unusual venues (the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia and the Sixth & I Historic Synagogue in Washington, DC, among them).
